I put them on my 2012 Softail Heritage. First off it does work. Its loud even at 65-70 with them mounted behind my shield i can still hear the music. But getting there was no picnic and here is why. The wires didn't reach from the handle bars to my battery under my seat. The wires do not have connectors for the battery. AND you will need to buy in addition a toggle switch with bracket to mount somewhere. All in all it cost me $35 at Autozone to properly mount the speakers. But in saying that with their sound being good, loud but a pain to install it gets 4 stars from me.
The MCBK425BA (without the multi function handheld control) has the amplifier builtin each speaker. This design provides an improved weatherproofing and occasional deep mud-hole encounter. Less wiring and entry points for water to enter. Hook'em up and ride like its your last day.
Awesome speakers! VERY loud! Knocked off a star only because of limited to no base. Can hear on my Harley with V&H pipes going 70 mph. Have to turn it down because they are so loud. No extra amp to store with set I purchased. Easy set up.
Good sound, great volume. But sadly the left speaker blew up from having it on loud all the time.
