California Prop 65 Warning

What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 is a California law that applies to companies selling products in California. Proposition 65 requires warnings if a product contains any listed chemical present above very low levels. Proposition 65’s warning standards are among the most stringent in the world. Proposition 65 is not a product safety law, but rather a "right-to-know" law. Businesses are required to provide warnings to comply with Proposition 65.

There are over 800 chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, which is administered by California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. The list includes naturally occurring and man-made chemicals. Proposition 65 warnings can be seen for a wide variety of everyday consumer products, including electronic equipment, and warnings can be seen posted throughout California in a variety of establishments such as buildings, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and stores.

Why do you see the warning on our packaging and website?

The warning is part of our ongoing effort to comply with the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (known as "Proposition 65").

Not bad, they need to make a few changes

Not a bad set up for the money, they need to change tge remote to a bar mount and make the radio function better. It has a auto scan only function so you cant manually pick your own stations. Whatever the scanner picks up during programing thats what your stuck with.

Great Sound

So far so good. My husband mounted these to my engine guards of my Yamaha 1100 V Star Classic. From what I could tell, the mounting process didn't give him any trouble. He had it ready in less than hour. Cons: No power on/off button or switch attached to the unit, so it has to be wired to power on and off with the ignition. I also purchased a tool bag for a place to store the amp because I didn't want the amp mounted anywhere on my bike. I didn't have any room for it beneath the seat. The unit is controlled by a remote fob; it would be great if it came with an extra fob. It would also be great if it had a tiny control panel to mount to the handlebars, so I wouldn't have to fumble with the remote at traffic lights. So you really have to set your music preference and leave it there, or be ready to make adjustments with the remote during stops. It also needs a better volume control switch and a better way to turn it on and off. You kind of have to preset your preferences...

This is a great radio if you don't mind some customization.

You can't beat the price/performance/feature set of this system.... end of discussion. Anything better is going to cost hundreds of dollars more and require a much more complicated set up. I had this wired up to test in a few minutes, the hardest part being finding a place to tap in the power. Once set up, I began trying to find a spot to mount the amp. The remote is a great feature, since it allows me to "hide" the amp somewhere for a nice stealthy setup, and I can still control the radio from the handlebars. I would definitely agree that a huge flaw is the implementation of the Volume/Radio station changing buttons. They are both tied to the same function depending on whether you single press, or press and hold the button and sometimes the remote just doesn't register that. Suddenly you switch from classic rock ballads to the village people while waiting on a traffic light... and that's just a horrible thing to experience. Once you get used to how the radio works and how the...
