California Prop 65 Warning

What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 is a California law that applies to companies selling products in California. Proposition 65 requires warnings if a product contains any listed chemical present above very low levels. Proposition 65’s warning standards are among the most stringent in the world. Proposition 65 is not a product safety law, but rather a "right-to-know" law. Businesses are required to provide warnings to comply with Proposition 65.

There are over 800 chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, which is administered by California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. The list includes naturally occurring and man-made chemicals. Proposition 65 warnings can be seen for a wide variety of everyday consumer products, including electronic equipment, and warnings can be seen posted throughout California in a variety of establishments such as buildings, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and stores.

Why do you see the warning on our packaging and website?

The warning is part of our ongoing effort to comply with the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (known as "Proposition 65").

Sleeper subs...

I paired 2 of these with a Boss IMP2000 monoblock amp enclosed in a shallow mount wedge enclosure. When I first got it installed and tested out, they didn't sound all that impressive considering all the great review on here. Even with everything turned all the way up they seemed very underpowered. Lets just say I was not impressed. I tried messing around with the EQ settings on my headunit but I didn't gain much out of it. A few days later I decided to drill a 1" hole in my enclosures. I'm not exactly sure if it was the holes I drilled or the sub just needed to get broken in but holy s*** these things kicked pretty hard! I had to kill the car because the sudden bass scared the crap outta me. My amp had a remote subwoofer level controller so I turned that all the way down and tried again. It still kicked pretty damn hard. Turned down the gain, LPF, subsonic, etc., on my amp to about a quarter turn each since I had them all maxed out. So to sum it up, these things kick, and they...

Most affordable flat sub for the money!

First off, This was a purchase for my girlfriend's car. I went with boss simply because of the best value on a budget. I personally would have gone with Pioneer because I have purchased from them for years. Just wanted to clear the air for those who may think this is an attack or something on Boss or Pioneer. I purchased this along with Boss Head unit and Riot amplifier. The subwoofer I noticed seems well constructed for the price. (owned better, owned worse; none of which cost only $30 bucks for this size and type) I did not build my own box for this, however I did look at the specs and matched with an appropriate sealed box. Both of which im still impressed with for the price. Played it first on a low wattage t-amp for less than $30 bucks. With this baby amp maxed out...probably sending 30W max to the sub. It was really bumping. Exactly what I needed. So I moved on to playing it on a heavier application: 200W home amp, again at most pushing maybe 90W to it...
