California Prop 65 Warning

What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 is a California law that applies to companies selling products in California. Proposition 65 requires warnings if a product contains any listed chemical present above very low levels. Proposition 65’s warning standards are among the most stringent in the world. Proposition 65 is not a product safety law, but rather a "right-to-know" law. Businesses are required to provide warnings to comply with Proposition 65.

There are over 800 chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, which is administered by California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. The list includes naturally occurring and man-made chemicals. Proposition 65 warnings can be seen for a wide variety of everyday consumer products, including electronic equipment, and warnings can be seen posted throughout California in a variety of establishments such as buildings, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and stores.

Why do you see the warning on our packaging and website?

The warning is part of our ongoing effort to comply with the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (known as "Proposition 65").

Good cheap replacement for older GM suburbans

Needed new rear speakers for Suburban after the OEM started rattling. These don't sound that great, but the whole sound system in the vehicle is original. These work, have decent bass, and don't have any odd sounds.

good sound, cheap quality control

i cant really complain too much being that these are boss speakers, but it kinda bothers me that one of the speakers has taut wires running from the woofer cone to the mid and tweeter. it doesnt seem to affect the sound quality, just kinda sits wrong with my ocd. but beyond my nit picking great speakers. good sound for cheap, and it came with a cutout template so you know what size hole to cut if you have to. i liked that. will probably end up buying more in the future if my truck proves to be worth expansion and not just upgrade

Git 'er done!

Better fit than many more expensive units. These have the correct mounitng ears for OEM replacement. Plastic ring around front sticks up about 1/4 inch higher than stock, but for rear of K series Suburban (up to 1992), still fits fine. Some people on here have complained that they are too thick for some other GM applications. While that may be true, 5 minutes a bench grinder and a light touch would make them fit perfectly. VERY light gauge wire with cheap spade terminals for connection. For serious use, I would solder the speaker leads directly to the terminals. The factory connections will not work on these anyway. Maybe somebody could take the terminal connectors off of the dead factory speakers and mount them on these, but not really worth the trouble.
