California Prop 65 Warning

What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 is a California law that applies to companies selling products in California. Proposition 65 requires warnings if a product contains any listed chemical present above very low levels. Proposition 65’s warning standards are among the most stringent in the world. Proposition 65 is not a product safety law, but rather a "right-to-know" law. Businesses are required to provide warnings to comply with Proposition 65.

There are over 800 chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, which is administered by California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. The list includes naturally occurring and man-made chemicals. Proposition 65 warnings can be seen for a wide variety of everyday consumer products, including electronic equipment, and warnings can be seen posted throughout California in a variety of establishments such as buildings, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and stores.

Why do you see the warning on our packaging and website?

The warning is part of our ongoing effort to comply with the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (known as "Proposition 65").

Love it.

Installed myself on my 2014 F-150. Didn't want an aftermarket touch screen radio. It works fantastic and the picture is awesome. Put it right in the middle of my license plate slightly angled down. The mirror looks stock. It's a little darker tinted than the factory mirror but not a problem at all.

Clean factory look, good overall quality

This is a very solid setup for the price. I have no complaints on the screen brightness but my truck has a canopy and tinted windows so that probably helps. If you plan on using the supplied camera I would use a quality bit for drilling the hole, the one that is supplied was pretty cheesy. The wires that supply power to the camera are VERY tiny, easiest way to work with them is to strip them back 2-3" and wrap the bare wire around your power source and solder them in. I have a 2000 F350 and the mirror mounted flawlessly. The display will auto sense an input so if you connect the camera power to a power source that feeds your backup lights the rear view mirror can be hooked into any 12V power source, unlike head units that require a backup signal.

Not bad for the price

I got the Boss Audio Systems BV430RVM Built-In 4.3-Inch Monitor with Rearview Camera for my 2010 Jeep. I like the fact the mirror replaces rather than hangs on the existing mirror. It looks stock. Perfect size for my Jeep. It doesn't interfere with visors but is big enough for a good display. It also works good as a mirror too. It doesn't auto-dim but that's OK. The video display part of the screen completely blends in with the rest of the mirror when the video is off. Video is bright enough in daylight. A little too bright at night if you don't turn the brightness down. Video can be reversed lite a mirror (default) or set let a regular camera. There are 2 video ins. The #2 is used for backup. #1 can be for DVD (when parked of course) or for a dash-cam. I've had it installed for about 2 months now and really like it. It's great for parking, hitching the boat or just seeing what's behind my big Jeep rear mounted spare. If you get this item be sure to flex the...
