California Prop 65 Warning

What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 is a California law that applies to companies selling products in California. Proposition 65 requires warnings if a product contains any listed chemical present above very low levels. Proposition 65’s warning standards are among the most stringent in the world. Proposition 65 is not a product safety law, but rather a "right-to-know" law. Businesses are required to provide warnings to comply with Proposition 65.

There are over 800 chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, which is administered by California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. The list includes naturally occurring and man-made chemicals. Proposition 65 warnings can be seen for a wide variety of everyday consumer products, including electronic equipment, and warnings can be seen posted throughout California in a variety of establishments such as buildings, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and stores.

Why do you see the warning on our packaging and website?

The warning is part of our ongoing effort to comply with the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (known as "Proposition 65").

616UAB Entry Level with Premium Touches

All I wanted was a replacement for a cassette stereo with analog tuning. Didn't need cassette or even CD and this one gave me much more (Remote, USB, SD, Input Jack) for just a few dollars more than the cheapest stereo's out there. I installed it in an RV, and a remote is nice. It can be a reach from the dinette to the dashboard. Unlike others, I had no fitment problems. Pried the old install sleeve (I call it a "Can") and staked the new can in. I did have a couple wiring questions and got courteous helpful live support promptly. I cut the connector off of the old stereo to make an "adapter" to the vehicle half of that connector. This BOSS stereo just has a Quality Look, Feel, and Sound to it. If it runs out anything like it did on installation, it'll be a very good pick. If the features match your needs, 616UAB won't disappoint!

Great price, decent radio, plan on mounting issues.

This is about the 612UA, not the other models out there. This one does not have a remote or blue tooth so if you want that do not buy the 612UA. I still use a flip phone and don't know why a remote is necessary since the radio is less than arms reach when sitting in the driver seat, but hey some people need all the bells and whistles. This radio is not bad for the price. Audio is decent and with the ability to change the equalizer and treble/bass it can easily be set up for the way you like hear your music. The tuner is pretty good and can pick up my favorite radio stations without too much trouble (one of the stations I like is almost out of range). Comes with the standard cheap mounting system that would not work in my truck so had to build my own mounting hardware for it. Expected that for the price and not the first time I had to build my mounting system for a low cost radio.

Works good, won't break your bank account. (unless you're really poor)

For the price, you will be hard pressed to do better. I bought this for my 23 year old work truck. I also purchased a Ford wiring harness to make things easier. Last night I spent about an hour shrink wrapping each wire and securing it neatly. Today I installed this stereo in my truck. The install took (no exaggeration) about five minutes. The radio works perfectly, and seems to pick up stations as well on the FM band as my old radio, although I think I got a little better reception on most stations on the AM band. Using a USB drive to play music. Works great, although I must confess I haven't been able to figure out how to skip folders, which makes cycling through music a bit tedious since I have a mix of books on tape, language training, and music. For a dirt cheap upgrade, I have no complaints. sounds at least as good as my old factory radio.

Model 616UAB

Purchased for my 04 Ford F-150 Heritage I had to trim my dash panel to get the radio to fit but once installed it has superb sound and plenty of power for the low price. I like the large Clock numerals easy to see in daylight.

Car Audio Newbie? Look here.

If you're anything like me, then you have no idea what you're doing when it comes to car audio. So I thought I'd leave a few tips along with my review to save you some research time. (Bottom paragraph is the review portion) -This radio is a single DIN (generic radio size for most cars) If the radio you are replacing is more than two inches in height, then you'll also need to buy a dash kit to fit your radio slot from double to single DIN. You'll also need to secure the metal sleeve that comes on the radio too your new dash kit. -You'll need a wire harness specific to your car model. This allows the power and speaker wires that come with the radio to connect with the speaker and power wires in your car. To do this, just match the colors of your radio wires to the colors of the wire harness wires. Either solder the ends together or wrap them around each other and put a protective cap on them. Also make sure you do this before you connect the harness to the car...
