California Prop 65 Warning

What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 is a California law that applies to companies selling products in California. Proposition 65 requires warnings if a product contains any listed chemical present above very low levels. Proposition 65’s warning standards are among the most stringent in the world. Proposition 65 is not a product safety law, but rather a "right-to-know" law. Businesses are required to provide warnings to comply with Proposition 65.

There are over 800 chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, which is administered by California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. The list includes naturally occurring and man-made chemicals. Proposition 65 warnings can be seen for a wide variety of everyday consumer products, including electronic equipment, and warnings can be seen posted throughout California in a variety of establishments such as buildings, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and stores.

Why do you see the warning on our packaging and website?

The warning is part of our ongoing effort to comply with the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (known as "Proposition 65").

Compared to a CEA Amplifier, it works well under 2 ohm and 1 ohm loads. I used 4 gauge wiring for power and ground.

I purchased the PD5000 "5000 watt max" amplifier. It works well under both 2 ohm and 1 ohm loads. At 2 ohms load, this performed just as well as my Kenwood 2000 watt max, but CEA rated, amplifier. I was surprised The output seems to proportionately increase under 1 ohm load. I did not have a db meter to confirm, nor do I have a means to dyno the amp or test the current in my wires. I used this to drive 1 and then 2 Kicker L7 15 inch subwoofers (4 ohm dvc). I am no expert, and this is basically a guess, but I feel as if output is somewhere near 2000 watts RMS, at 1 ohm, which is perfect for my driver load. This is a day one review, but if I do not update, then I have no problems.

Everything lights up and it acts like its working but nothing from speaker outputs

Purchased this amp for a car I was working on. It set on a shelf for almost a year before I installed it. Played for 2 songs then stopped. Everything lights up and it acts like its working but nothing from speaker outputs. Of course since I had it so long before I installed it there is nothing they will do. I removed cover and can see where the outputs are burned. It is the worst soldering job on any electronic I have ever seen. It looks like a 5 year old built it. This amp was designed to fail! Either that or the quality control at Boss is horrible. Do not purchase! Revised 06/29/2017- After speaking with Boss they agreed to honor 6 year warranty and are going to service and repair amp for free. I have to pay shipping but that is to be expected. If all goes well and I receive amp back repaired I will update this post and revise again.

Nothings perfect

Worked great! For 2 minutes. Then forced subs to pulse, and continued with smoking. Amazon quickly replaced and the new one works well, compared to a kenwood 1800 kac9104d bridged , the boss doesn't beat it by volume by any means. More so equal, now where the boss kicks is the quality I've got tuned no bass boost running 2 , yes dual kicker l7 15s in sealed 2sqft boxes ea. I'm blowing people's systems away without even cranking mine.
