California Prop 65 Warning

What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 is a California law that applies to companies selling products in California. Proposition 65 requires warnings if a product contains any listed chemical present above very low levels. Proposition 65’s warning standards are among the most stringent in the world. Proposition 65 is not a product safety law, but rather a "right-to-know" law. Businesses are required to provide warnings to comply with Proposition 65.

There are over 800 chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, which is administered by California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. The list includes naturally occurring and man-made chemicals. Proposition 65 warnings can be seen for a wide variety of everyday consumer products, including electronic equipment, and warnings can be seen posted throughout California in a variety of establishments such as buildings, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and stores.

Why do you see the warning on our packaging and website?

The warning is part of our ongoing effort to comply with the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (known as "Proposition 65").

Nice. Check your head unit before you say it doesn't work.

Had a fright when I installed it, didn't work for all 4 channels. Discovered a loose RCA jack to my head unit. Then once that was solved all channels worked but any volume at all began a reverb. I adjusted the input gains and found the right level and it has been great since. Way more amp then I need in an extended cab truck, but now I only turn it up to 25% and am happy with the sound. Clean and crisp. I get some hiss if I switch to surround sound mode on my head unit, not sure why, but I rarely watch movies in my truck. So word to the wise, check your settings for HOW you are using it, 2 channel, 4 channel, 5 channel, High Power or Low Power inputs, full range or high pass/low pass filter. Mine came set for low pass, I switched to Full range 4 channel to match my head unit, adjusted the gain on the inputs, and even took it down a little farther after I got clear sound. I don't need to over drive the inputs since I have a WHOLE lot of amp in a truck.

Outstanding !

In my honest opinion, Boss Audio products are excellent and I have NEVER had an issue with ANY Boss Audio component that I've purchased. If you're looking to upgrade a factory stereo or if you're wanting to disturb your neighbors (lol) then Boss can do it, and at a price that's very reasonable. I have just installed a new system in my Silverado. It starts with the Boss Head Unit- 508UAB , then the Boss 7 band Equalizer -AVA1210. The Boss PF1800 Amp powers my Boss NX654 door speakers and my Boss P69.4C rear speakers. I have the Boss PT1000 Amp driving my 2 Boss SLR8 Dual voice coil subs. This system sounds PHENOMENAL in my truck !!! It's crystal clear at ANY volume and it puts me in the " Front Row of the concert " so to speak ! My advise is this : Regardless of what Boss System you might purchase, always use the thickest gauge wire possible for the entire system, make sure you have a VERY GOOD GROUND and follow the wiring diagrams provided with your...
