California Prop 65 Warning

What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 is a California law that applies to companies selling products in California. Proposition 65 requires warnings if a product contains any listed chemical present above very low levels. Proposition 65’s warning standards are among the most stringent in the world. Proposition 65 is not a product safety law, but rather a "right-to-know" law. Businesses are required to provide warnings to comply with Proposition 65.

There are over 800 chemicals on the Proposition 65 list, which is administered by California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), a part of the California Environmental Protection Agency. The list includes naturally occurring and man-made chemicals. Proposition 65 warnings can be seen for a wide variety of everyday consumer products, including electronic equipment, and warnings can be seen posted throughout California in a variety of establishments such as buildings, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and stores.

Why do you see the warning on our packaging and website?

The warning is part of our ongoing effort to comply with the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (known as "Proposition 65").

Bought a BOSS 612UA Car stereo on Amazon. Installed it myself. Best car stereo on the market for under $ 25.00. Fantastic Deal. Sounds GREAT! Easy to install. THANKS!!!

Great price, decent radio, plan on mounting issues.

This is about the 612UA, not the other models out there. This one does not have a remote or blue tooth so if you want that do not buy the 612UA. I still use a flip phone and don't know why a remote is necessary since the radio is less than arms reach when sitting in the driver seat, but hey some people need all the bells and whistles. This radio is not bad for the price. Audio is decent and with the ability to change the equalizer and treble/bass it can easily be set up for the way you like hear your music. The tuner is pretty good and can pick up my favorite radio stations without too much trouble (one of the stations I like is almost out of range). Comes with the standard cheap mounting system that would not work in my truck so had to build my own mounting hardware for it. Expected that for the price and not the first time I had to build my mounting system for a low cost radio.

The radio and aux world wonderfully but the usb port won't plat music from my iPhone so that kinda sucks but other than that i like it.

Simply awesome. Ok, first, let's be real. For $29 it's not going to be high end and it's not going to be feature packed, so we shouldn't even go there. That's an unreasonable expectation. But, it serve its niche very well. I have a semi-beater truck that I use for weekend hauling. The radio someone else installed was garbage, despite being "high end", so I bought this as a replacement. It works very well, and is (for the most part) very easy to use. Once you learn the gist of the settings, it's reasonably intuitive. It's very easy to install. I thought the instructions were fine, better than most similar type products, even. It doesn't play CDs, but so what? I'm using my phone more and more anyway. I didn't think I'd need a USB or SD port, but am pleasantly surprised how convenient they each are. And since I usually do a "shuffle play" anyway, I'm not all that concerned with track order. I also appreciate 30 radio presets...

Car Audio Newbie? Look here.

If you're anything like me, then you have no idea what you're doing when it comes to car audio. So I thought I'd leave a few tips along with my review to save you some research time. (Bottom paragraph is the review portion) -This radio is a single DIN (generic radio size for most cars) If the radio you are replacing is more than two inches in height, then you'll also need to buy a dash kit to fit your radio slot from double to single DIN. You'll also need to secure the metal sleeve that comes on the radio too your new dash kit. -You'll need a wire harness specific to your car model. This allows the power and speaker wires that come with the radio to connect with the speaker and power wires in your car. To do this, just match the colors of your radio wires to the colors of the wire harness wires. Either solder the ends together or wrap them around each other and put a protective cap on them. Also make sure you do this before you connect the harness to the car...
